I worked on this all day today. I haven’t had a full day in my studio since last week and I think I missed painting more than I ever thought I would. Leaving the studio before I’m ready to puts me in an inexplicable bad mood. Not directed towards anyone. Just grumpy. It’s weird.
I’m pleased with how the lighting and fleshing out is coming along. I think I need to reevaluate the head size on the main front character. Something’s coming across wrong, so I’ll have to take a look at it tomorrow. The more I look at the horses legs, the more frustrated I get as well. They looked okay until I added the guards to the lower portions…Ugh. More tweaking tomorrow and we’ll see where that gets me.
I have a little more than a month to finish about 8 paintings. I’m going to be really busy for the next chunk of time before school starts and then I can devote all my attention to my growing collection of intended personal work. I have so many ideas I want to work out and try on canvas.
